Changing Perspectives - Podcast Series 4!

Nov 02, 2025

We’re so excited to announce the launch of our Season 4 theme: Changing Perspectives. This series is close to our hearts, and we want to share why we’re doing it, what you can expect, and how you can be part of the conversation.

Why Changing Perspectives?

Home education is all about creating a learning experience that fits every child’s needs, but we know there are voices and experiences that don’t always get heard. As the UK’s No.1 home education podcast, we believe it’s time to shine a light on the stories, challenges, and triumphs that too often go unspoken.

We want to:

  • Challenge assumptions in home education and beyond
  • Make space for marginalised voices
  • Encourage real, honest conversations about education, identity, and community

How You Can Get Involved

We want to hear your story! For this series, we’re inviting listeners to send us a letter about your experience – whether it’s a moment that changed your perspective, a challenge you faced, or how your family’s journey has shaped you. Letters can be anonymous if you prefer. We’ll read some of these on the podcast (with your permission) or use them to guide our discussions.

Got a guest suggestion? Know someone with a powerful perspective or unique experience? Let us know! We’re always looking for voices that will help us all see things differently.

Email us at [email protected] or DM us on social media – we genuinely want to hear from you.

What’s Coming Up?
Here’s a sneak peek at the topics we’ll be exploring in this series:

Gender and Sexual Orientation: How do we create inclusive spaces for all children and families? What are the challenges and joys of exploring identity within home education?

Able-ism in Education: SEND, disabled parenting, and how our systems often overlook or exclude those with different abilities.

Refugees & Newcomers: What is it like to home educate as a refugee or newcomer? How can we be more welcoming? What are some of the challenges being faced in education for refugees who arrive in the UK.

Age-ism in Education: Why don’t we treat children as equals? Is older always wiser, or do children have wisdom we’re missing?

Prejudice Within the Home Ed Community: What biases do we bring with us? How can we break down barriers within our own community?

White-washing Education & Banned Books: Who decides what’s taught and what’s hidden? Why do some stories get left out?

What to Expect

Changing Perspectives will be a space for honest, sometimes uncomfortable, but always compassionate conversations. We’ll share real stories, expert insights, and practical ideas to help us all grow as educators, parents, and people.

Our goal is not to lecture or tell anyone how to do things, but to listen, learn, and open up new ways of thinking. We hope you’ll come on this journey with us.
